You would think that getting married on the 5th November might mean free fireworks, but no, Paul and Laura pulled out all the stops for this wedding and organised their own anyway! The sights and sounds of Guernsey on fireworks night were all around us but there was just a little piece of the sky saved for Mr and Mrs Finn on their wedding day.

This image of Leanne makes it into our faves because it took a fair bit of thought and work. Firstly, it was taken at St Martins Point which involves walking down a couple of hundred steps! I had this idea for a while and was fortunate to find someone willing to hike down (in a big green dress). This picture was lit by two off camera flashes, one held by Monica (leftof shot) and the other held by me and covered with a green gel to colour the rocks. The final shot is made of up two separate exposures, the longer exposure for below the bridge allowed me to fire off the flashgun several times and a shorter exposure for the sky and Leanne! The two shots were merged in Photoshop, and hey presto!
The hard part was walking back up the steps with a bag full of gear (Leanne will tell you it was hardest in a prom dress)…

This image looks straightforward enough, four people posing in the arch down at Saints Harbour. In fact it was a composite of 4 separate images merged together in Photoshop. Trying to light this with one light would not have given me the correct amount of light on each of the models faces. It sounds a tricky shot, but with a bit of planning is quite straightforward.
Claire & Dean“We just wanted to thank you for our wedding photos, we are absolutely thrilled with them. You both took such an interest in our wedding and made it very special. We can’t thank you enough”
