We had a great night out and visited Bluebell Woods, Icart and St Peter Port.  As you can see they are a couple very much in love.

The ceremony took place at Vale Church and was followed by a reception at the Duke of Richmond Hotel.

Cassandra was brought to the church by an amazing convertible Bentley, and we were lucky enough to be allowed to the grounds of the owners house to take some pictures.  It’s amazing to see some of the houses that are hidden from view, this one had a pond on three levels!

After the group pictures and speeches we went out again for an early evening shoot.  Bluebell Woods was in bloom and luckily Cassandra was happy to walk down in her big heels (not easy but worth it)

The weather was fantastic and we had a great time with the happy couple, all the best from Shanine and myself in your many happy years together.

After a chat at the studio about technique etc we went out for a shoot at the Guet.  I couldn’t wait to get out either, the poor weather seems to be behind us now and I have a good feeling about this year.  Finding the good light was trickier due to the amount of harsh sunlight around (we weren’t complaining though).  Eden came up from the beach to model for us.

After our shoot we went back to the studio for a review and look at some image editing in Photoshop.

Aimee and the girls had their morning preparations at the Grande Mare Hotel, a great venue for weddings and photography in Guernsey.  Sean spent the previous evening with his best mates playing cards (as you can see by the poker chips).

The ceremony took place at St Matthews church by Cobo, close to the Guet pine forest where we went for a few pics afterwards.  Shanine even climbed a tree for a few of the pics, there’s nothing we won’t do at Creative

Back at the hotel we had a great fun shoot with the boquet, a decent fight to get hold if it which ended up with a few flowers missing!

All in all a great day out as you can see by the pics, all the best Aimee and Sean, thanks very much for asking us to photograph your big day

Mel had set a wonderful vintage style for the day and the reception had a great garden party feel to it.  There was a gin bar in the basket of a vintage bicycle in the middle of the marquee.  A great touch.

Strawberries and cream followed an ace buffet, and some fun speeches capped off a great day.

We started at Bluebell Wood as the recent damp weather had brought the flowers out a treat.  Next we went to Saints, as you can see it was a fantastic day with a fantastic sunset.

Finally we went to L’Ancress for a few pictures with the setting sun.  All in all a fantastic night out with a great couple.

It was an amazing day for engagement photography, the Guernsey landscape shown off at it’s best for the happy couple.

We are looking forward to the big day, it’s sure to be a great one

Not long now until the big day and it’s fair to say we had a bit of a laugh at the reservoir!  Can’t wait for the main event

Adobe have announced they are moving to a subscription only service for their creative suite.  One of the applications is the well known and used Photoshop.  People will only be able to sign up for Photoshop online for a monthly fee.

There are a few reasons Adobe chose to go down this route, obviously it’s cheaper for them, they save a huge amount on packaging the product and also it will cut down the amount of people who steal the product (although some may still be able to get around this)  There are of course plenty of advantages of the new download, no one off upgrade charges, no need to spend £500 on Photoshop if you are not alreday a user.  Any upgrades will be available immediately rather than having to wait 18 months or so for the next version.

Some photographers only use “stolen” versions and are clearly upset about the thought of having to pay for this service, the same photographers that would be up in arms if someone stole one of their pictures no doubt….

I have signed up for CC and as an owner of a version of CS3 or later, I have got a one year introduction deal of £7 per month, this will go up but is a nice way into CS6 and updates that would have cost me £150 straight off to upgrade from my version (CS5).

There are a couple of Adobe products which you can still buy and keep, Elements and Lightroom.  Elements is a cut down version of Photoshop and users would be less keen to subscribe, the software costs under £50 anyway.  As for Lightroom, it has a rival in Apple’s Aperture, maybe this is what is keeping it out of the CC suite for now.
